Nature offers a bounty of botanicals to nourish, heal and thrive. We’re constantly reminded the importance of fueling our bodies with proteins, vitamins, minerals and fatty acids to maintain health, and what we feed our bodies effects the appearance of our skin. Aging is an integral part of life, but feeding the skin directly plays a key role in reducing the visible signs of aging in the skin.

Free radicals are produced through both natural processes and environmental stimulus and cause cells to breakdown over time, leading to signs of aging such as wrinkles and sagging skin. Antioxidants are anti-aging heroes sent to destroy free radicals and maintain skin’s elasticity, boost natural skin regeneration and reduce the signs of aging.

Here is a list of anti-aging superstars you should be using daily:

Argan Oil

Packed with vitamin E, essential fatty acids and antioxidants, argan oil works to improve texture by strengthening the bonding structures in skin, and improves appearance by fading dark spots. Argan oil seals in moisture, balances oil production and won’t clog pores.

Hair health is also an indication of youth, and argan oil tames frizz, locks in moisture and adds shine to locks.

Green Tea

Drinking antioxidant-rich green tea has been shown to assist in maintaining a healthy body. When used in skincare, the plant extract’s anti-inflammatory properties calm irritation and redness and helps to improve skin’s overall tone and health. It is also believed green tea extract transports more nutrients to skin by improving circulation.

Rosehip Oil

Protect and regenerate with this super food for the skin. Vitamin A, a natural component of rosehip oil, along with antioxidants slows the signs of aging and reduces blemishes. Essential fatty acids 3, 6 and 9 nourish, hydrate and renew. Rosehip oil is ideal for the delicate skin around eyes and lips.

Pomegranate Extract

Pomegranate extract helps to reduce hyperpigmentation due to sun exposure. It also soothes irritations, blemishes, acne and reduces redness. Naturally occurring vitamin C improves skin’s texture by reducing the appearance of dry, rough patches. Collagen decreases as we age, and pomegranate extract penetrates deep into the skin to increase collagen and elastin production for improved texture and tone.

Calendula

Used for centuries in skin repair, calendula is believed to assist in skin's consumption of proteins and collagen production. Calendula plumps skin by drawing in moisture; it doesn’t clog pores and is gentle on sensitive skin.

These age-fighting superheroes, paired with a natural oil or butter base such as olive oil, mango butter, coconut oil and shea butter reveal your youthful glow.

Awesome list!! I would definitely add Frankincense Oil to that list! I've heard so very great things about this oil when it comes to anti-aging.
