4 Nontraditional Ways to Say 'I Love You’

No longer reserved for sweethearts on Valentine’s Day, celebrating love has become a month-long affair. Grandiose declarations and over-the-top proposals splash across your social media feed and local news. Flowers and chocolates dominate storefronts and email blasts. We leave love notes to our spouses, send fanciful cards to our families and hide sweet treats for our children, all beautiful gestures. Let me introduce four unconventional ways to express your love this month and beyond.

Community Service

Is there a cause close to your love’s heart? Show what’s important to them is also important to you. Arrange a few hours of volunteer time with their favorite charity, collect items for donation to their local church or help with a community project. You and your beloved will not only strengthen your bond with each other but foster relationships in your community.

Family Date Night

Games, crafts, movies and adventures…gather the kids and plan an evening of fun! Save chores and homework for another time, check the ‘business talk’ (bills, school, etc.) at the door and designate this a work-free zone. Kids of all ages will want to help plan the family’s activities, and an evening without your typical everyday responsibilities can bring everyone closer together.

Year in Review 2016

2016 was brimming with hot new products, savvy new events, social media parties and more followers than ever. Take a road trip down memory lane as we celebrate our 2016 Year In Review!

Products

You’ll find products most admired by customers in the Top 20 Products of the Year photo, featured above. Topping the list again this year are the Healing Elements Balms, soap bars including Tea Tree, Oatmeal Milk & Honey, Lavender Goat's Milk and Frosted Cranberry; BB Crème makeup and loose mineral Foundation and Matte Black Organic Mascara; plus a variety of body care and skincare products people use everyday.

The introduction of innovative new products is one of the key elements in engaging our customers and creating excitement for our sales consultants. In the spring, we released refreshing new Strawberry Lemonade and it was a huge hit with a wide variety of people of all ages. As part of our commitment in offering safer alternatives to families we unveiled a brand-new Deodorant Spray and Paste Deodorant utilizing certified organic essential oils, baking soda and odor-fighting ingredients. New Prebiotic Hand Wash was introduced to help provide a safe solution to harsh sanitizers and dish soap at the kitchen sink.

In the fall our ‘Products with a Purpose’ initiative propelled sales upward with the popularity of Soothing and Recovery Balms. These purposeful balms infused with botanicals and essential oil blends help reduce common muscle soreness, body pain and fatigue with all-natural ingredients. For the men, we added a popular Beard Oil that doubles as a hair serum for the ladies and for nursing moms, we introduced Organic Nursing Balm for healing delicate skin. To complement the addition of a few new essential oils we added a chic new Welcome Home Diffuser for large living areas and Wall Diffuser for small spaces like hallways and restrooms. We launched a revolutionary Prebiotic 3-in-1 Wash in both Unscented or Men’s Essentials scent. This organic, GMO-free product works on a molecular level by stimulating good microorganisms on the skin and promoting collagen production. It serves as a shampoo, body wash and facial wash in the shower. An exotic new floral scent, Midnight Orchid, was introduced and quickly became a customer favorite among women. For the holiday season we introduced new Snickerdoodle products and brought back perennial picks: Candy Cane and Frosted Cranberry.

Understanding and Treating Psoriasis and Eczema

Psoriasis and eczema are two common skin conditions frequently discussed in the skincare industry. Since the treatments for both of them are very similar, they seem to get linked together and talked about interchangeably. Even though psoriasis and eczema may have some similar remedies they are very different skin conditions. Knowing the difference between them will help further understand the best healings for both. Lemongrass Spa Products provides a variety of products that can help alleviate symptoms of both conditions.

Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is a hypersensitivity of the skin. This is strictly a topical condition. It is most common in babies as they are building their immune system and is a condition that is typically grown out of. However, there are certain cases where this sensitivity continues into adulthood. Certain dyes, fabrics, soaps and other allergies such as pets can trigger eczema. The skin may look red, inflamed, cracked, peeling or blistered. Since eczema is a form of skin irritation, it causes the skin to be extremely itchy; most treatments focus on soothing this extreme discomfort. When the dryness and itchiness are taken care of, the skin begins to heal. The best Lemongrass Spa product recommended for eczema would be Healing Elements Balm. The zinc oxide used in Healing Elements is extremely soothing and will help the itching and prevent further damage to the skin. Another recommendation to soothe eczema is to eliminate body care products that contain fragrance and limit the amount of ingredients in the products that you use. Lemongrass Spa Products provides a variety of fragrance-free products such as Unscented Body Icing and Unscented Prebiotic Hand Wash. If choosing to use essential oils, make sure they are extremely diluted and used in a base such as a balm or oil.

Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune disorder that causes an overproduction of skin cells. Unlike eczema, this condition is triggered from inside the body. Psoriasis shares a lot of the same symptoms as eczema, however the main difference is the build up of white flaky cells that will appear on the skin that does not happen with eczema. At this current time there is no cure for psoriasis, but there have been some successful treatments. Because this condition is internal the best treatments for it are diet, stress control and prescriptions prescribed by your doctor. People have been extremely successful at keeping their condition under control with those three remedies. Using products that gently exfoliate the area to remove the cell build up along with treating the “soreness” of the skin that is often described by people who have this condition are helpful in treating psoriasis. After gently exfoliating the skin apply Lemongrass Spa’s Ultra Hydrating Body Crème to keep the new skin moisturized and soothed. Also using one of Lemongrass Spa’s balms such as the Peppermint Foot Balm can help ease the topical discomfort. Spraying Lemongrass’s Prebiotic Facial Mist on the area will help feed the good bacteria on the skin and keep it healthy as it heals.

Using the right skincare products on eczema and psoriasis play a huge role in helping them heal. Most of Lemongrass Spa’s products are safe to use on these conditions. When recommending products, stick with fragrance-free and a short ingredient list; this lessens the chance of any adverse reactions. Now having a better understanding of each condition, you can find the right products to sooth the irritation caused by these conditions.

Let me know in the comments what's helped provide relief for your psoirasis or eczema syptoms.
